Issues with Rates at Chula Vista Resort for WABDL World Cup on April 11

There have been reports that the Chula Vista Resort (hotel for the WABDL World Cup on April 11) has not been honoring their agreement in regard to special rates for WABDL lifters competing at the World Cup.  We’ve heard  that they have been telling our lifters that Chula Vista has a policy that cancels out group rates when they reach 80% or more room reservations. If this is true the WABDL is troubled as WABDL lifters have provided nearly 100 of those room nights!

While the deadline for the meet rate has passed (Mar. 22), if you had called prior to the deadline and if you were told that Chula Vista would not honor the WABDL room rate please call Gus at (503) 901-1622. He will call on your behalf and do his absolute best to get this straightened out.

We will update this post as we receive new information from Chula Vista and/or from Gus.

    It appears that a phone call from Gus has solved this issue. I am guessing the issue was a result of lack of communication at Chula Vista Resort. Reservation staff may not have been notified to honor ALL WABDL rates if the reservations were made prior to the deadline (overwriting the 80% policy). Kudos to Chula Vista Resort for doing the right thing!
