Seventeen year old Seth Thompson recently competed at the WABDL Southeast Regional Bench Press and Deadlift Championships, which was his first time competing in any federation. The meet was held on March 28th in Manchester, TN . Seth’s mother Nicole states that; “Seth did well in in the Bench Press competition; however, he excelled in the Dead Lift”. His pull of 425 lbs. was enough to set a Tennessee State Record @ 198 in the Teen Men 16/17-Year-Old Division.
Seth is currently a linebacker for the CCCHS Red Raiders football team; he has played football since he was 3 years old and trained with his dad up until he started high school football.
“A friend of ours shared a post about the WABDL Southeast Regional competition on Facebook to which Charles (his dad/my husband) contacted another friend, Jeff Brandon, for more information. Jeff thought it would a great idea if Seth came to train with him and compete at competition for his gym, Elite Conditioning”.
Both Seth and Jeff believe that if he was given another lift he could have easily pulled 500 lbs. “So, we await the next competition to attempt at breaking the record”.
