Dr. Frank Hammer passed away Friday, January 3, 2020

I am truly heartbroken to announce that my good friend Dr. Frank Hammer passed away Friday, January 3, 2020. The man I had come to love and call a friend was humble and truly giving. Extremely generous.

He approached me about four years ago and wanted to learn the sport of Powerlifting. Frank absolutely fell in love with the sport. Loved it so much, that it was the only file organized and in his file cabinet at home. He went on to compete in several WABDL competitions and earn several state titles for his bench and deadlift. His local state wins earned him an invitation to the WABDL Worlds in Las Vegas on three different occasions.

February 16, 2020 he would have stepped on the competition platform once more.

I have dusted off my gear and will once again head to the platform in his stay. In honor and loving memory, I will be lifting for Dr.Frank Hammer at the Sonny’s WABDL Hawaii competition on Sunday, February 16th.

His service will be held at Dodo Mortuary on Saturday, February 29th. Visiting will be at 9:00am with a celebration of his life at 11:00am. Light refreshments to follow services.

Frank, you made the biggest impact on my life in such a short time. Your passing has left a huge void in my heart. I will truly miss you. Whenever I hear the booming sound of thunder I will always think that you must be having a great Deadlift session. You have made it into that elite group of lifters. Show them what you know.

Rest in love my friend.
