Donald Bryant was born January 13, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois. Don served in the US. Army from 1974 to 1977 and started his law enforcement career with Cook County Sheriff’s office for 6 years. Don moved to Vancouver, Washington in 1984 where he joined the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office retiring September 1, 2013, for a total of 35 years on the job.

Donald has worked tirelessly promoting the Police and Fire games since 2010. He has competed in numerous weightlifting federations, lifting in those police and fire divisions Don lifts all over the country and has actively recruited officers and firefighters to compete in the games. Don competed in his first world games in the 2011 New York WPFG and did not miss a World Games competing in Belfast 2013, Fairfax 2015, Los Angeles 2017, and Chengdu in 2019. Don will also be competing in Rotterdam this summer.Don bas competed in 8 United States Police & Fire Championships and 1 Western States Police and Fire Games. Don earned 2 Gold and 2 silver in Bench Press from 2015 to 2019.
Don has devoted his time to training at rick youth in power lifting and as a power lifting coach for the Washington State School for the Blind since 2014, Don has trained over 60 kids at the School for the Blind with 23 of his students setting numerous World Records and many others setting state records. Don helped these kids achieve a positive self-image by competing in a sport they did not think possible.
Don has been married to his wife Carrie for 32 years. They have two sons and three daughters and one great son-in-law! One of Don’s daughters has cerebral palsy which inspired him to start a non-profit children’s charity which he ran for 17 years.
