Sonny’s III Throwdown and Sonny’s XVI Meets have been postponed/canceled until further notice.

To our WABDL Hawaii Powerlifting Ohana:

Due to the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, necessary precautions are being taken to keep our staff, lifters, and spectators safe. It is our top priority that we monitor the situation and ensure that we are doing our part to keep the community safe.

Based on the State of Hawaii Department of Health (DOH) guidance on public events of gatherings of 100 or more persons; and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of gatherings of 50 or more persons, a decision has been made regarding Sonny’s WABDL events for 2020.

  • Sonny’s III Throwdown, scheduled for April 26, 2020 at the Town Center of Mililani has been canceled.

  • Sonny’s XVI WABDL Bench Press and Deadlift Championships, scheduled for June 28, 2020 at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center (NBC) has been postponed/canceled until further notice.

A reschedule date is not currently available; pending notice from NBC on date availability after all postponed/canceled events are rescheduled.

We understand and are mutually disappointed but with the best intentions for all involved it is the right decision to be made. As we monitor the ongoing situation, we will provide updates in accordance with the DOH, CDC, and NBC.
