WABDL World Cup will take place in Turku, Finland on 26-27th of August in 2017. It will be hel in conjunction with the 20th anniversary celebrations of Finland Powerlifting Organisation at one of the country’s biggest sports halls and with around 200 lifters in attendance!
Venue: The renewed sport hall with long traditions, Kupittaan Urheiluhalli
Schedule:
26.8. RAW classes for men
27.8. RAW women & all equipped lifting (1- ja 2-ply WABDL plus unlimited/full gear FPO )
Lifting starts at 10AM both days. Weigh-ins the day before, 10-12AM, 18-19PM, on the day 8-9AM
Both days also have a special bodyweight for reps challenge on the bench press!
Meet hotel:
Our meet hotel is located downtown Turku, Hamburger Börs offers a special 80.00 euros per room. Hamburger Bors is one of the oldest and best hotels of Turku, right in the center and just over a mile away from the venue.
The bookings can be done through www.sokoshotels.fi, using code BFPOSM, and the offer is for single room 80 euro and double 90 euro per night, both with delicious Buffet Breakfast included.
Easy domestic travel:
From Helsinki airport, on pier 20 to Turku there is bus transfer every hour for rate of 12.50 euros for a smooth an hour and a half ride. We can also arrange a free transport if this don´t fit your needs. That will be offered for once a day basis.
The meet site and hotel are only a 10minute walk on the river front away from each other. See the map. Also, a free transport from hotel to meet site and back is arranged before and after each days lifting. You can also use bus, they start every 30minutes from the market plaza.
International Travel:
Getting Finland is easy. Many American airports offer flights for good prices from 450-800 USD dollars. Some are direct, at least from New York and Miami and many through Paris, Amsterdam or Frankfurt to mention few.
Awards:
Prizes include 8 Hotel packages to WABDL Worlds, 300 euro cash prizes for division winners by raw/equipped divide, plus separate trophies and money prizes according to WABDL divisions (ie. single ply will have a separate winner), medals, certificates.
•Medals and trophies for weight class and division.
•Prize money for best male & female in both bench and deadlift on both days. These are by Reshel formula.
•Free hotel at the 2017 World´s for best male & female lifters raw and equipped. These go by Reshel formula including the age factor.

Deadline till 7th of August to the promoter.
Entry fees are as follows: 1 Division 40 euros, 2 Divisions 60 euros. After that, add 15 euros per division.
